New library at night
Dear Library patrons,

We are celebrating National Library Week 2020, which runs through April 25.

National Library Week acknowledges the vital role of public libraries in our communities and celebrates the staff who keep public libraries exciting and welcoming places to visit. The theme for this year’s celebration is Find Your Place at the Library, a befitting theme given the pivot to the virtual.

Although Library locations are temporarily closed due to the Covid-19 virus, we continue to provide a wealth of virtual services and online resources.

At the Cambridge Public Library, we welcome all, inspire minds and empower community. We support a Cambridge where everyone has equitable opportunities to learn, people live their best lives, and democracy thrives. During National Library Week, we celebrate our libraries and the wonderful staff members who keep the Library a vibrant cultural, community and intellectual center in Cambridge.

You are welcome to share your appreciation for the Library and our dedicated employees by using the hashtags #thankyoulibraries and #NLWD20.

I also wanted to make you aware of our Virtual Story Time which happens every Thursday.

Virtual Family Story Time
Thursday, April 23
11-11:30 a.m.

We invite children and their grownups to join us from home for 20-25 minutes of songs, stories, and rhymes.

Caregivers are asked to participate in the program with their children--it will be as important as ever to model movement and song for your little one during this virtual session. Plan to join in, sing along, and move around!

Virtual Family Story Time is free and open to the public and is not recorded. If you register but later find you cannot attend, please remember to cancel your registration to make space for others. Register here to participate in this event. Zoom link will be emailed to registrants one hour before the program begins.

Thank you for your library love and support.

All best,

Dr. Maria McCauley
Director, Cambridge Public Library
