Park Sounds with Albino Mbie Trio and HobART Goulart

The Albino Mbie Trio and HobArt Goulart will headline the final performance in CPL Park Sounds, the Cambridge Public Library’s summer music series on Wednesday, September 14, from 6-7:30 p.m. The series is dedicated to Janet Axelrod, who was a friend of the Library, musician, and late chair of the Library’s Board of Trustees. Bring a blanket or a chair and join us outside of the Main Library in Joan Lorentz Park for Park Sounds!

Albino Mbie is an award-winning musician, guitarist, singer, composer, and sound and mixing engineer born in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, a country in southern Africa known for its rich musical and cultural heritage. His music incorporates his musical experiences from Mozambique, the U.S., and many other places around the world, combining rhythmic patterns and musical concepts to create a unique Afro-Pop and Moz-Jazz sound.

HobArt Goulart is a singer/songwriter/comedian originally born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and currently living in Cambridge. Goulart's music encompasses several styles from Bossa Nova and Samba to Pop and R&B, and celebrates immigrants, refugees, and disenfranchised communities around the world. He often plays as a trio with piano and saxophone.
Past performers in the series include Grace Givertz, a multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter, and Naomi Westwater, a Black-multiracial singer-songwriter, whose work is informed by jazz, soul, folk, and electropop. CPL Park Sounds is supported by the Cambridge Public Library Foundation.
