Join author Nathan Harris virtually as he discusses the writing process. In his debut novel The Sweetness of Water, Harris creates an unforgettable cast of characters, depicting Georgia in the violent crucible of Reconstruction. Equal parts beauty and terror, as gripping as it is moving, The Sweetness of Water is an epic whose grandeur locates humanity and love amid the most harrowing circumstances. Longlisted for the 2021 Manbooker Prize,  an instant New York Times bestseller, an Oprah's Book Club Pick, and on Presiendet Obama's 2021 Reading List.

Jason Brown is a fiction and nonfiction writer. He was a Stegner Fellow and Truman Capote Fellow at Stanford University, where he taught as a Jones Lecturer. He has received fellowships from the Yaddo and Macdowell colonies and from the Saltonsall Foundation.
