We all have beloved family photographs: some are digital and some are framed and displayed proudly on our walls. Others are stored in albums or just put in a box for a rainy day project. Sometimes our digital photographs are organized. But more often than not, they are located on several devices and can be difficult to find. In this FREE, two-part workshop series, offered in collaboration with CCTV, we will show you how to preserve and organize your physical and digital photographs so they can be passed on for generations. Registration is mandatory.

Session 1: Preserving Physical Photographs
Wednesday, February 21, 6-8 PM
Community Room, Main Library
Instructor:  Alyssa Pacy, Archivist Cambridge Public Library

This session offers a basic overview for how to care for, display, and organize your treasured family photographs – no matter the format or condition. Learn simple preservation techniques as well as what materials are needed to safeguard photographs. Bring in a photograph for evaluation and learn how to protect it using archival products.

Session 2: Organizing and Sharing Your Digital Photographs
Wednesday, February 28, 6-8 PM
CCTV, 438 Massachusetts Avenue
Instructor:  Beth Luchner

This workshop will provide an overview about online solutions to help you digitize photos, store your photos, and share your photos with family and friends through online albums or with printed books. Some of the web sites covered are free while others require fees. (Please note that this class takes place at CCTV, 438 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge.)
