Nerd Alert! at the Cambridge Public Library is a series of public talks where local scientists demystify cutting-edge research in a casual setting.

What do gummy bears, diapers, and stem cell research have in common? They all use hydrogels! Hydrogels form the basis of some of our favorite foods as well as cutting-edge biological innovations. In this talk, we demonstrate the fascinating properties of hydrogels in cooking, and discuss the directions of ongoing hydrogel research at MIT.

Presented by Kitchen Matters, a team of materials science PhD students who are passionate about science outreach, and also love to cook!

All ages welcome. Registration is required.
