Love recycling? Love kids? Help Cambridge Public School students sort their waste when they’re cleaning up after lunch (or breakfast)!

The third of four Household Hazardous Waste Collection Days in 2026 will be on Saturday, August 29th from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m., at 50 Mooney St.

Join us for the sixth of ten neighborhood Pop-Up Recycle Center Events in 2026. By making collection easier and more accessible, DPW hopes to safely manage items prohibited in the trash.

The City of Cambridge will conduct overnight paving in Central Square beginning Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 8 p.m. Work is expected to continue until approximately 4 a.m. on Monday, August 24, 2026.

Cambridge’s Recycling Advisory Committee (RAC) is organizing a Free Store Saturday, August 22 at Reservoir Church, 170 Rindge Ave, to help reduce move-out waste. 

The East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project (EMMCP) has begun the second round treating catch basins in Cambridge with larvicide to control the spread of West Nile Virus.

Beginning the August 10, weather permitting, the City’s contractor, Newport Construction, will be performing roadway milling (grinding) and paving operations to enhance the road conditions on several sections of street around the City.
