2019 City Scholarship Recipients

The City of Cambridge hosted a ceremony May 13 to honor recipients of the 2019 City of Cambridge Scholarship.  This year, the city awarded 77 scholarships of $3,000 each for a total $231,000 to Cambridge high school seniors and others pursuing higher education. Since the program’s inception in 1993, the city has awarded 1,029 scholarships totaling $2.4 million.

The City of Cambridge gratefully acknowledges the generous contributions of our residents and local businesses to the City of Cambridge Scholarship Fund.  We especially want to thank Boston Properties for their continued support and contribution of $50,000 again this year to the Scholarship Fund.  Thanks also to our Scholarship Committee who volunteer their time year after year to carefully review the applications and select our recipients.

“You should be proud of your hard work and I want you to know that your city is proud of you,” said Cambridge City Manager Louis A. DePasquale. “It is remarkable that we can provide $231,000 in scholarships to 77 recipients. But this is only possible through the generous donations that we receive each year. The fact that so many residents and businesses contribute to our Scholarship Fund speaks volumes about our community.”
