There are several housing options for Massachusetts Veterans.

Affordable rental opportunity for single homeless Veterans
Conveniently located on the blue, orange and green lines between Government Center and State Street MBTA stations. Walking distance to Faneuil Hall, Boston Commons, Theatre District, Waterfront, BEST LOCATION IN BOSTON. Offers on-site services provided by the NEW ENGLAND CENTER FOR HOMELESS VETERANS. BHA subsidized - Tenant contribution to rent is 30% of income. Maximum annual income limit $35,000

Candidates must:

  • Meet BHA definition of homelessness
  • Be a Honorably discharged Veteran of the U.S. Military
  • Be able to live amicably in a group residential situation
  • Some CORI issues are disqualifying

Two buildings provide efficiency apartments for 12 veterans. The project involved extensive renovation of two two-decker buildings in downtown Gardner.

7 units. Most residents, ready for independent living, have moved from MVOC's Unity House, a 15-room SRO that MVOC developed and has managed since 1996 in Gardner.

60 private, furnished rooms including a group of seven contiguous rooms for female veterans that share one common bathroom. The Bedford Veterans Quarters is housed in Building 5 on the Bedford VA Campus in Massachusetts. 56 of the 60 units receive Section 8 benefits. Applications will be reviewed by the Metropolitan Boston Housing Partnership, including a CORI review. Veterans must have completed their military service with either an honorable or general discharge as shown on their DD 214 and must be clean and sober for at least 120 days.
