Traffic Advisory: Sherman St. will be closed from Rindge Ave. to Walden St. (except local traffic) on Thursday, Aug. 17, from 5 p.m - 12 a.m., for the Oldtime Baseball Game at St. Peter's Field, 65 Sherman St. Pre-game ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. Game begins at approximately 7 p.m. (Rain Date: Aug. 18)
Event attendees are advised to arrive early, and can park at the back of the Fresh Pond Shopping Center and walk 10-12 minutes through Danehy Park to Saint Peter’s Field. Guides will be directing people along the way. There will also be a shuttle bus at the shopping center near the movie theater.The nearest T stop is Alewife Station on the Red Line.
The Oldtime Baseball Game is a celebration of our national pastime, which this year will benefit John Martin Fund and ALS Therapy Development Institute. Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez will be pitching in the game and will be reunited with Red Sox infielder Lou Merloni.
