New library at night
A quick note to our passionate and poetic patrons!

The next STEAM Academy Passions & Pathways program for teens will be held on Thursday, May 14, from 3:30-5:30 pm. Our guests from Eli Lilly & Company and Olin College of Engineering will share the stories and pathways to their careers.

The STEAM Academy is a partnership with Innovators for Purpose and has been funded by the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Trust, Cambridge Public Library Foundation, the Margret and H.A Rey Curious George Fund, Eric and Jane Nord Family Fund, and Verizon.

Registration is now open for The Hope Storytelling Project @ the Cambridge Public Library, a virtual series of 5 biweekly poetry workshops discussing the theme of hope. The workshops seek to help participants share their own stories through poetry, and to create community during this time of social isolation.

The Library is also virtually hosting Porsha Olayiwola presents I Shimmer Sometimes, Too on Monday, May 18, 7 - 8 pm EST. Olayiwola is a writer, performer, educator and curator who uses afro-futurism and surrealism to examine historical and current issues in the Black, woman, and queer diasporas. A Zoom link will be emailed to registrants prior to the event. Registration is required

Our Virtual Family Story Time continues on Thursdays at 11 am. Children and their grownups can join us for this free program of songs, stories, and rhymes! Registration is required.

As the Massachusett’s stay-at-home advisory remains active this week, please continue maintaining social distance and wearing your face masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

 All best,

Maria McCauley, Director of Libraries
