March Information Sessions on Fair Housing, Summer Camps/Resources, and Safeguarding against Scams

In the first week of March, the City of Cambridge will host three, free information sessions, including a Fair Housing Listening Session (March 2), a Summer Resource and Camp Information Fair (March 4), and Safeguarding Against Scams (March 5).

Cambridge Fair Housing Listening Session 
Monday, March 2, 6 p.m.
Valente Branch Library, 826 Cambridge St., Cambridge

Community members are invited to share their experiences with fair housing in Cambridge at this listening session. Information gathered will help the city better understand barriers to fair housing so that these issues can be considered as part of the Cambridge’s planning for use of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funding in future years. This event is open to the public.  No RSVP required.  Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) will be provided. Free childcare will be available at this event. 27th Annual Summer Resource/Camp Information Fair 
Wednesday, March 4, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Cambridge Rindge & Latin High School

459 Broadway, Main Cafeteria, Cambridge
Cambridge families are invited to learn more about camp programs for youth (Grades JK-8); day and residential camps; programs for middle school students; and job opportunities for youth. Parents and caregivers can also meet the representatives for Cambridge Community School Inclusive camps and other private and public camps, including programs for children with special needs. Entertainment and art activities for children & light refreshments provided.  Parking is available in the school garage. Safeguard Against Scams Panel Discussion: National Consumer Protection Week Event
Thursday, March 5, 12-1:30 p.m.
Citywide Senior Center, 806 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge

As part of National Consumer Protection Week, the Cambridge Consumers’ Council, the Council on Aging, and Cambridge Police Department will be hosting a panel discussion Safeguarding Against Scams, including phone, email, and in-person scams.  Representatives from various organization will also be on hand to offer information and respond to questions related to consumer protection.
