Vacation Week Youth Programming

All CPL locations have special programs scheduled to help make your winter break super-fun!

Tuesday, February 18

  • Pineapple Project: Engaging original theater piece that explores gender, creativity, and each child's freedom to be who they are. (Ages 4-8 and their caregivers) - Central Square 11:00 AM & O'Connell 1:00 PM
  • Alternate & Virtual Reality: Experiment with visual and augmented reality using Merge headsets and Merge Cubes. (Collins, 2:00 PM, ages 10+)
  • Queer Kid Stuff LIVE: Celebrate LGBTQ+ history and present day with songs and storytelling. (Main Library, 2:00 PM, children ages 5 and up and their caregivers)
  • How to Boil Water: Chef Liz will guide the class through one pasta and one rice dish everyone can make at home. Please register here or by calling 617-349-4015. (Valente, 2:00 PM, children and teens ages 8 and up)
Wednesday, February 19
  • Drop-in Art Studio: Discover different artists and make creations based on their work and style (O'Neill, 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM, ages 4-10)
  • Jenny the Juggler: A fabulous variety show includes juggling, magic, music, and more! (Main Library, 2:00 PM, for children of all ages and their caregivers)

Thursday, February 20
  • Drop-in Art Studio: Discover different artists and make creations based on their work and style (O'Neill, 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM, ages 4-10)
  • Choose Your Own Afternoon: Board games, puzzles and pop-up books. (Main Library, 2:00 PM, for children all ages and their caregivers)
  • Third Thursdays @ Collins: Drop in for a STEAM Kit petting zoo! (Collins, 5:00 PM, all ages)

Friday, February 21
  • Children's Concert: A morning of musical performance and exploration! (Collins, 10:30 AM, for children of all ages and their caregivers)
  • Barn Babies: Come cuddle and pet baby animals! Space is limited, please call 617-349-4017 to register. Registration begins February 10. (Boudreau, 11:30 AM, for children of all ages)
  • Drop-in Art Studio: Discover different artists and make creations based on their work and style (O'Neill, 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM, ages 4-10)
  • Family Movie: Abominable (Main Library, 2:00 PM, for children and their caregivers)
  • Perler Beads: Follow a pattern or create your own design with fusable Perler beads. (Collins, 2:00 PM, for children age 5+ with their caregivers)
  • Zoo New England Presents Wildlife Conservation: What the zoo is working on and how you can do your part. And meet some real live animals! (O’Neill, 2:30 PM, ages 5+)
