A&B ON POLICE OFFICER C265 S13D

MASSACHUSETTS AVE
Cambridge Fire Department responded to the 600 block of Massachusetts Ave. for a report of a box alarm. CFD reported that there was no active fire and intoxicated people had pulled the alarm. CFD requested a Police response for the involved parties. Upon arrival, Cambridge Police met a resident of Cambridge, who was extremely intoxicated and refused to take her arm out of the mechanisms of an elevator. Officers attempted to remove her arm from the elevator, at which point she became enraged and struck an officer with closed fists, and kicked another officer with a shod foot. She was to be transported to a hospital for evaluation, but became enraged again, attempting to hit and kick officers a second time. She was taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital. She was summonsed for two counts of Assault and Battery on Police Officers.

Cambridge Police arrested Patrick Benson, 32, 144 Kenrick Street in Boston, for operating a motor vehicle with suspended driving license and failure to stop for police, and Jontae Mongo, 22, 184 Walnut Avenue in Boston, for a warrant for shoplifting out of Wrentham District Court. Cambridge Police responded to CambridgeSide Place for a report of a shoplifting reported by a Cambridge Police Officer on a paid detail inside the mall. As result, suspects were located, identified, and arrested.

Cambridge Police responded to Tremont Street for a larceny in progress. The reporting party stated a white male, approximately 50 years old, wearing a gray jacket and carrying a gray bag had stolen packages and was leaving the area on Tremont toward Hampshire Street. Two suspects were located running near the scene of the incident and both matching the description of the suspect. After an investigation, the stolen goods totaling $863.04 were found in both mens’ bags and in a barrel nearby. They will be summonsed and charged with Larceny Under $1200.
