SHOPLIFTING BY ASPORTATION C266 S30A

ALEWIFE BROOK PKWY
Cambridge Police arrested Anthony Moore, 57, 444 Harrison Avenue in Boston, on a warrant from Brookline District Court and an additional charge of Shoplifting by Asportation. Officers interacted with Moore after a clerk at a convenience store on Alewife Brook Parkway called 9-1-1 to report a shoplifting. Officers responded to the store and were directed toward the roadway where Moore was located. Moore matched the provided description and was in possession of over $400 in unpaid merchandise from the store. Officers soon learned that Moore had a warrant out of Brookline District Court on a charge of Shoplifting by Asportation. Moore will face an additional charge of Shoplifting by Asportation in regard to today's incident.

A resident of Malden was summonsed to court for Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle after he was involved in a motor vehicle crash at Hampshire Street. The driver was cited with a Passing Violation for Colliding with a Cyclist in the bike lane that was travelling in the same direction.

An Officer observed a vehicle making an illegal left hand turn from Cambridge Street onto Springfield Street where it is prohibited. The vehicle was stopped and the operator was unable to produce a license. The operator, an Everett resident, was then summoned to court for operating unlicensed and making a turn where prohibited. The vehicle owner was also summoned for allowing unlicensed operation.
