Renew Your Cambridge Parking Permit at the City Hall Annex by Friday, March 31

Have you renewed your Cambridge parking permit yet? All 2022 Resident and Visitor Parking Permits expire next Friday, March 31, 2023. If you haven't already done so, renew your parking permit the by visiting the Cambridge Traffic, Parking, and Transportation Department at the City Hall Annex (344 Broadway). If you have all the required materials, you'll receive your parking permit the same day. Learn more at www.cambridgema.gov/rpp

You must renew your Resident and/or Visitor Parking Permit in-person if you want to receive it before your 2022 permits expire.

  • Monday: 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Friday: 8:30 a.m. to noon

Renewal Timeline:

  • Until March 31, 2023, cars parked in spaces with signs that say “Parking by Permit Only” may use either a 2022 or 2023 Resident or Visitor Parking Permit. 
  • Beginning on April 1, 2023, cars parked in spaces with signs that say “Parking by Permit Only” must use a 2023 Resident or Visitor Parking Permit.

We will not issue you a permit if you have unpaid parking tickets in your name.

Proof of Residency

You must provide proof of residency unless this is your fourth consecutive permit with the same name and address. If you are applying for a Resident Parking Permit, your proof of residency must have the same name and address of your vehicle registration. All proof of residency must include a date (month/day/year) in the last 30 days.

Vehicle Registration

If you apply for a Resident Parking Permit, provide a copy of your current vehicle registration. If you are only applying for a Visitor Parking Permit, this is not necessary. Your vehicle must be registered in Massachusetts, show your residential address in Cambridge, and have a garage code in Cambridge.

Permit Fees
  • $25 per Resident Parking Permit. A Resident Parking Permit includes a maximum of one Visitor Parking Permit per household. 
  • $25 per Visitor Parking Permit for households without a vehicle. 
  • Permit fees are waived for residents who are 65 or older and residents who have a disability plate or placard. 

Residential Parking Permit stickers should go on the inside of the windshield, at the bottom corner in front of the driver's seat.
