Expect brief road closures and traffic impacts in East Cambridge during the evening of Thursday, April 27, due to a drone-based light show celebrating the Boston Red Sox.
There will be two shows taking place over the Cambridgeside Mall in East Cambridge. The two shows will last about 10 minutes each and begin at 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Shortly before and during each show, First Street will close between Thorndike Street and Charles Street. The street and sidewalk will close to vehicles, pedestrians, and bicycles to ensure safety. Access will also be limited on the side streets leading up to First Street during these times.
There is no noise associated with the light shows. Views of the shows will be best at least several blocks from the mall area.
If it rains, the light shows will be rescheduled to Friday, April 28.
