Healthy Aging & Cycling series concluded its third year of offering bicycling skills to older adults

Healthy Aging Bike series

A collaboration between Cambridge's Council on Aging and Community Development Department, the Healthy Aging & Cycling in Cambridge program is a three part series aimed at increasing older adults comfort and skill level to bicycle around Cambridge.

  • Power Pedal - The first of the series, offered 12-weeks of free virtual classes for all fitness levels, focusing on building strength, balance and flexibility
  • On-Bike Skills Clinic - The skills clinic helped older adults brush up on bicycling skills. Instructors from MassBike worked with small groups, and focused on building better bicycle skills, stability, and confidence.
  • Group Rides - The slow roll group rides began on area bike paths and gradually increased in mileage. Helmets and a limited number of bicycles were provided, when needed.

The 2022 Healthy Aging & Cycling program concluded its last group ride of the season with its largest number of participants and we are looking forward to returning in Spring 2023.
