Analysis of the crime totals for the first three months of 2023 indicates that violent crimes recorded a 14% increase to start the year when compared with last year. Similarly, property crimes rose 23% with 110 additional crimes reported when compared with the first three months of 2022. However, when analyzing the serious crime totals of March 2023 versus February 2023, there has been a minimal decrease of 1% in the number of index incidents with just two fewer crimes reported.
