We will help you identify birds, learn birdwatching tips and tricks, and familiarize yourself with migratory birds as well as those that can be spotted all year round. A limited supply of binoculars will be available. The walk will meet at the Collins Branch Library at 64 Aberdeen Ave at 10:15 am. We will walk to Mt. Auburn Cemetery together (about a five minute walk). Please try to be on time as we will leave shortly after 10:15! Registration is required. This event can only accommodate a certain number of participants. One registration is good for one person. If you do not register, you cannot participate. Join the Cambridge Commission on the Status of Women to wrap up our three-part tour series, Mapping Feminist Cambridge (MFC). Each tour covered one Cambridge neighborhood square, Central, Inman, or Harvard Square, highlighting the impact local individuals and organizations had on the feminist movement from 1970s-1990s

Due to all-staff safety trainings for the City of Cambridge Department of Public Works (DPW), trash and compost collection normally scheduled for Friday, October 20 will be delayed one day and will occur on Saturday, October 21. Recycling and Yard Waste will remain on the normal schedule.

The Department of Public Works has announced changes to its sewer connection fees that will take effect on March 1, 2025. A sewer connection fee is a one-time charge assessed as part of a building permit, based on the number of plumbing fixtures that connect to the sewer.

Two mating seasons occur per year for squirrels, one in late January or February and another in late May or June. Following a 44-day gestation, the first litter of three to five young is born in March or early April, and the second in August or September.
