Cambridge Increases Grants for Neighborhood Block Parties
Block Party season is here and the City of Cambridge is increasing grants for block parties in 2024 to help more neighborhoods hold celebrations. Any block is eligible to apply for $300 in funding and free access to pop-up play equipment.

And Permitting Is Now Easier And Quicker. Block Parties build community, strengthen connections among neighbors, and showcase creativity to make a healthier (and more fun) community.
Roadway Paving of Various Locations on October 4th and 5th
Beginning September 26th, weather permitting, the City’s contractor, E J Paving, will be performing partial roadway milling (grinding) and paving operations to enhance the road conditions on several sections of streets around the City. The roadway grinding operation at each location is expected take two days followed by paving of the roadway later that same week, or the following week (weather permitting).
Central Square Rezoning Block Party October 19
The Central Square Rezoning team invites you to come learn and play with us at a Block Party in Central Square on Saturday, October 19th! The team will share the zoning recommendations along with art, activities, dancing, and information about other important projects in and around Central Square.
To Build Stronger, Closer Neighborhoods, Cambridge Makes It Easier To Host Block Parties
It is now easier and cheaper to host block parties in Cambridge. The City is eliminating the block party permit fee, providing free party games, and offering $200 cash awards (limited supply) to support celebrations.
Block party potlucks and games bring neighbors together for fun, but the parties also help build more connected, resilient neighborhoods.
