Pacific Street Dog Park

Work consists of general improvements to the dog park area as well as the installation of water play features for pets, a water fountain for people and pets, a shaded sitting area for residents, planting beds, natural features, play structures, and more.

This project has been completed. No further updates to this project page will be made.


Project completed and opened to the public in August 2016.


July 26, 2016

Installation of the fence is taking longer than anticipated due to the design and the extreme heat. Park is now expected to be complete and open by Monday, August 1st.


July 18, 2016

The contractor expects improvements to the Pacific Street Dog Park to be completed the week of July 25, 2016 and anticipates the park reopening on Wednesday, July 27th.


CONSTRUCTION UPDATE - May 20, 2016
Pacific Street Dog Park upgrades anticipated to be completed by mid-late June

The following is an update on the status of the Pacific Street Dog Park improvements:

  • All drainage work is complete.
  • The outline of the dog park is complete
  • The outline of the planting beds are complete.
  • The outline of the fencing is complete - Poles have been installed that will be part of the fencing.
  • All trees have been planted.
  • All mounds have been installed.
  • Cement blocks have been installed as a climbing structure.
  • Another wooden climbing structure has been installed.
  • Two cement tubes serving as tunnels for dogs to run through have been installed.
  • Existing wooden benches have been positioned.
  • Irrigation is being installed and will be completed shortly.
  • All playground equipment and any other parts have been ordered.

The City and its contractor, J & J Sacca, have the following work remaining:

  • Installation of benches, play structures, a water fountain, and a covered structure.
  • Fencing and sodding of grassy areas will complete at the end of the project.

This work is anticipated to be complete by mid-late June.

What to Expect During Construction:

  • General work hours will be 7AM to 4 PM, Monday-Friday.
  • “No Parking” signs will be posted at least 24 hours in advance of construction; please be sure to check posted signs for exact dates and times.
  • City services will continue uninterrupted and emergency vehicles will maintain access at all times.

CONSTRUCTION NOTICE
Pacific Street Dog Park work to begin on Monday, March 28th


Beginning on Monday, March 28, 2016, the City and its contractor, J & J Sacca, will begin installing temporary construction fencing around the site at the Pacific Street Dog Park between Brookline and Sidney streets.

Improvements to the dog park will begin once the fencing is installed and is anticipated to be completed in summer 2016.

Work consists of general improvements to the dog park area as well as the installation of water play features for pets, a water fountain for people and pets, a shaded sitting area for residents, planting beds, natural features, play structures, and more.
