  • Spring Showers Bring Limited Time Offer on Rain Barrels

    Capture the rainwater from your roof and store it in a rain barrel for later use in your garden. Purchase a 60-gallon rainwater collection system for $69.00 now through May 27th. Delivery is scheduled for Thursday, June 1st , from 4:30 -7:00 p.m. at the Cambridge DPW yard, 147 Hampshire Street.

  • Construction on Aberdeen Ave 1/22-1/25

    The purpose of the work is to repair underground MBTA electrical infrastructure from an MBTA utility pole in the median on Aberdeen Avenue to an underground electrical structure near the Mt. Auburn Street end of the median.

  • David Lefcourt of City of Cambridge Recognized as Tree Warden of the Year

    The Massachusetts Tree Wardens’ and Foresters’ Association (MTWFA) has presented its 17th annual Seth H. Swift Tree Warden of the Year award to David Lefcourt, City of Cambridge.

  • Binney Street Overnight Sewer Work 1/16-1/17

    Between the hours of 6:30pm on Tuesday, January 16th and overnight until 6:00am on Wednesday, January 17th there will be a sewer inspection crew working on Binney Street, weather permitting.

  • Hampshire Street Overnight Snow Removal 1/10-1/11

    Due to snow narrowing the width of the roadway, Public Works will be conducting snow removal operations in certain areas of Hampshire St. to ensure safe passage for vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians. These operations will begin on Wednesday, January 10th at 8pm and continue until 6am on Thursday, January 11th.

    On Thursday, February 1st from 6:00-7:30 pm, the Department of Public Works will be hosting a Community Meeting in the second floor Community Room at the City Hall Annex located at 344 Broadway.
