Roadway Enhancement Operations on Hampshire & Windsor Streets Week of October 30th

caution sign The information on this page may be outdated as it was published 6 years ago.

Beginning Monday, October 30th and continuing through Wednesday, November 1st (weather permitting), the City’s contractor will perform roadway grinding and paving operations to enhance the roadway conditions.

This work involves patching an area of the roadway on Hampshire Street (between Portland St. and Prospect St.). After paving is complete, bike lane markings will be restored.

In order to maintain two travel lanes for cars and bikes to share, there will be NO PARKING on either side of Hampshire St (between Portland St. and Prospect St.) from 7am-5pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Grinding/paving work will also take place on Windsor Street (between Harvard St. and Main St.) on these same dates.

As this work is weather dependent, residents are reminded to please check posted signs as work days/hours are subject to change.

Residents who have vehicles parked in the work area will need to move them prior to the beginning of operations at 7am.

What to Expect during Roadway Work:
  • Work hours will be 7 AM to 5 PM.
  • No parking on either side of Hampshire St (Prospect to Portland) during work hours.
  • Bikes and cars should share the roadway.
  • Vehicle access in and out of properties will be limited during work hours. Please plan vehicle and parking trips accordingly.
  • “No Parking” signs will be posted 24 hours in advance of the work; please be sure to check dates/times.
  • Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.
Information & Assistance:
If you have any questions regarding these operations, need assistance, or require a special accommodation, please contact Ed Chaisson, Public Works Supervisor, at 781-290-3805. For after-hours assistance, please call the DPW 24-Hour Line at 617-349-4800.
