Building permit review

Public Works offers the following contractor resources in order to help contractors provide the best possible services to the Cambridge community.

Permit Applications

 Crane and Boom Permit- for a crane, boom concrete truck involved in right-of-way

  • Dewatering Permit- for construction which groundwater is discharged to storm drain
  • Excavation and Trench Permit- for any excavation in the right-of-way or for any private property trench
  • Temporary Construction Access Permit- for temporary access across a public right-of-way to any construction site

Engineering Information Walk In Hours: 
General engineering research can be done during any of DPW's office hours.  For more detailed questions or consultations related to permits, plans, and projects, engineers and contractors are encouraged to stop by to consult with a senior engineering staff member during the following drop in hours:

Tuesday    7:30 am    9:30 am
Thursday    7:30 am    9:30 am
