The City collects large appliances/ items from Cambridge residents. These curbside pickups must be prescheduled.

Some items are picked up free of charge, while others have a fee for pick up.
Free pick up is offered for:
Bicycles, metal desks and cabinets, grills, exercise equipment, lawnmowers and snowblowers.

Other large appliances and large electronics are collected for a fee.
• The charge for this service is $25 per item ($20 if the resident is age 62 or older).
   
• We accept the following forms of payment online: Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit card; Visa or MasterCard debit card or Electronic check (E-check). A convenience fee will be charged for each purchase: $0.99 + 2.99% for credit or debit cards, or a $5.50 flat fee for payments made by E-check.

• To avoid convenience fees and pay with cash or a check, please visit the Department of Public Works at 147 Hampshire St, Cambridge, MA 02139.  
Please note that an item is not officially put on the collection schedule until all outstanding fees have been paid.
