Senior Discount Water/Sewer Application

Senior Discount Water/Sewer Program Application

Because of the impact the water and sewer rate increases may have on senior citizens, the City offers a Senior Discount Water/Sewer Program. All residents aged 65 years of age or older who own and occupy their one, two or three family home are eligible for a 15% discount on water/sewer charges, not to exceed $90 per year. To qualify, you must be 65 years of age or older on July 1 of the current year. If you are currently receiving the discount, you will continue to receive it, you need NOT reapply. To begin receiving the discount, complete the application form below if you qualify for this program. Any resident who was granted a Clause 41C elderly exemption on FY21 real estate taxes will receive a 30% discount not to exceed $180 per year. The City automatically grants this discount where applicable; therefore, you do not need to apply for it.

If you have any questions regarding the Senior Citizen Water/Sewer Program, please contact the Finance Department at 617 349-4220. If you have any questions regarding the qualifications for the real estate tax exemption under clause 41C, please contact the Assessor’s Office at 617 349-4343.

Please note that all fields except Parcel ID are required, but entering all fields will help with faster processing.
