Graffiti Removal

Public Works

The City's Graffiti Removal Program is a cooperative effort between The Department of Public Work, the Cambridge Police Department, residents and property owners to remove graffiti from private property.

To report graffiti in the City, please visit cambridgema.gov/311 or call 617-349-4800. For offensive or profane graffiti that needs immediate attention after regular business hours, please call the 24-hour line at 617-349-3300.

Once the graffiti is reported, an inspector will examine the damage. If it is determined that Public Works can safely and effectively remove the graffiti on private property, a waiver form is sent to the property owner. Upon receipt of the signed waiver, a crew is scheduled to remove the graffiti.

Additional Information

If a property owner wishes to remove the graffiti themselves or if it is determined that Public Works can not safely remove the graffiti, they can review these tips for removing graffiti themselves.
