Mermaid Promenade

Mermaid Promenade at 2019 Cambridge Arts River Festival.

Be Part Of Mermaid Promenade At Cambridge Arts River Festival

Join us in the Mermaid Promenade that kicks off this year's Cambridge Arts River Festival on the banks of the Charles River along Memorial Drive between JFK Street and Western Avenue on Saturday, June 15, 2024.

The promenade will be a participatory community spectacle featuring mermaids, mermen, and many more water creatures, plus a marching band, dragon dancers, and giant puppets.

Parade including marching band, dragon dancers, and giant puppets begins at 11:30 a.m. at Winthrop Park at Winthrop Street and JFK Street, goes south on JFK Street, then turns east onto Memorial Drive, where the River Festival takes place, and travels through the festival to end around Corporal Burns Park on Flagg Street.

All are welcome to join in the parade: To be in the parade, come in costume and/or with props to Winthrop Park at Winthrop Street and JFK Street by 11:15 a.m.
