Learn about the inception of HBCUs in the United States and experience their rich legacy of cultural contributions through film/tv excerpts, artistic performances, visual art displays, and a powerful panel discussion.

Panelists include: Naisha Bradley (Clark Atlanta University) Chief Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging Officer at Harvard Graduate School of Design; Janessa Dennis (Clark Atlanta University) Founder $ CEO, LUMJTV; Iman Firmin (Morris Brown College) Program Director Hip Hop Transformation; Kyrk Morris (Howard University) President/Director Citizens of The World, Inc; and Taylor Perry (Hampton University Class of 2020)

Performances by Singer-songwriter, James Isaiah; Kuumba Singers of Harvard College, and Omo Naija X The Wahala Boys Dance Troupe.

The event will also include the screening of excerpts from Tell Them We Are Rising: The Story of Black Colleges & Universities, and an HBCU trivia contest. This event is sponsored Cambridge Public Library and the Harvard & Legacy of Slavery Initiative.
