The Cambridge Youth Boxing and Fitness Program is a collaboration between the Cambridge Police Department Family and Social Justice Section and the Cambridge YMCA.
After starting in 2011, the program has become a nationally recognized staple of the Cambridge community and a flagship program of the Cambridge Police Department. Run by a Cambridge Police Officer, Cambridge Police Licensed Social Worker and YMCA partners, the Cambridge Youth Boxing and Fitness Program is a gender inclusive, non-contact, fitness-based boxing program for Cambridge youth in grades 6-12.
It focuses on self-defense, physical and mental health, peer mentorship, relationship building, family support, social emotional learning, inclusion, individual growth in a group setting, accessibility, equity, and (most importantly) FUN.
This is a FREE program and participants must register online and complete all forms (follow instructions ). Classes are every MONDAY and WEDNESDAY (year-round) between 4-5:30 p.m. at the Cambridge YMCA, which is located at 820 Massachusetts Avenue.
All equipment is provided, however, participants must dress for a workout.
