Social Media in Cambridge
In an effort to increase communication and information sharing with residents, several City departments now participate in social media. The intended purpose behind establishing City of Cambridge social media sites is to disseminate information from the City, about the City, to its citizens. As a public entity, the City must abide by certain standards to serve all its constituents in a civil and unbiased manner. These sites are not a replacement for other forms of communication, and requests for information and services, complaints, etc. should be shared with the department and/or City via standard practices and established channels.

Comments perceived as containing any of the following inappropriate forms of content shall not be permitted on City of Cambridge social media sites and are subject to removal and/or restriction by the department site administrator. A comment posted by a member of the public on any City of Cambridge social media site is the opinion of the commentator or poster only, and publication of a comment does not imply endorsement of, or agreement by, the City of Cambridge, nor do such comments necessarily reflect the opinions or policies of the City of Cambridge. The City of Cambridge reserves the right to deny access to City of Cambridge social media sites for any individual at any time and without prior notice. All comments posted to any City of Cambridge social media site are bound by that site's terms and conditions, and the City of Cambridge reserves the right to report any violation of those terms to the site with the intent of the site taking appropriate and reasonable responsive action.
