Description

El Retablo de Maese Pedro from the series “Cervantine Stories, Quixotic Moments.” El Retablo de Maese Pedro (Master Peter's Puppet Show) is a puppet-opera composed by Manuel de Falla (1876-1946) to a Spanish libretto based on chapter 26 of the second part of Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes. In the opera, Don Quixote is watching a puppet play: A medieval story of love and quarrels between Moors and Christians.
