Description

The Cambridge Human Rights Commission is holding its 23rd Annual Fair Housing Poster Contest Awards event, on Wednesday evening April 13, 2016, from 5:30 -7:30 PM, in Cambridge City Hall. This year’s poster contest theme is “Fair Housing Matters” and 34 children from Cambridge youth centers, the Main Library Children’s Room and the Cambridge Community Art Center made posters exploring that theme, expressing their understanding of anti-discrimination laws and Fair Housing. The event’s Keynote Speaker is Jamie Williamson, Chair of the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and the event will also include brief remarks from City Manager Richard C. Rossi and Mayor E. Denise Simmons. Local Cambridge banks East Cambridge Savings Bank, Cambridge Savings Bank and Cambridge Trust Company are continuing their annual support for the event with cash prizes awarded to the top 6 poster makers, as well as t-shirts and reusable bags for all participants. Local business gift certificates are provided to all participants. Refreshments and light food are provided.  All are welcome.
