Composer Focus @ The Lilypad

Description

The third of nine monthly concerts in the Composer Focus series features the music of Dmitri Shostakovich. Shostakovich's music is some of the most communicative written in the last century – ranging in expression from anguish to bitter sarcasm to defiant heroism. This concert will feature works for violins and piano, Quartet No. 11, and his final composition, the Viola Sonata. Composer Focus in a new classical concert series, specializing in 20th and 21st century chamber music for piano and strings.
