Public Service Recognition Week May 6-12
5/7/2012
The City of Cambridge celebrated Public Service Recognition Week early with its 19th annual Outstanding City Employee Awards. Each year, City officials recognize a handful of employees for their superior performance, positive attitude, hard work and dedication to public service. As has often been the case in the past, this year’s theme focused on the importance of teamwork and the commitment and support that recipients receive from the city’s leadership.
Celebrated the first week of May since 1985, Public Service Recognition Week is time set aside to honor the men and women who serve our nation as federal, state, county and local government employees and ensure that our government is the best in the world.
Throughout the country, mayors, governors, communities and public service organizations participate in PSRW by issuing proclamations; hosting award ceremonies and special tribute events; and delivering messages about the value of public service.
Public servants deserve our thanks throughout the year and we invite you to join us in honoring the great employees of the City of Cambridge who work hard every day to make Cambridge a great city to live in, work in and visit.
