This FREE event along the banks of the Charles River attracts 200,000 people annually and features jazz, folk, roots and world music performances, dance, art demonstrations, family art-making activities and over 100 specialty food purveyors and craftspeople!

We need YOUR HELP as a volunteer to make this one-of-a-kind arts and culture event a success. No experience is necessary for many volunteer jobs, and all are welcome! Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at:

Event is Saturday, June 2, Noon to 6 p.m.  Volunteer shifts start at 8 a.m. continue until 8 p.m. Shifts are broken into 4-hour blocks: 8 a.m.-12 p.m. (set-up); 12 - 4 p.m.; and 4-8 p.m. (will include breakdown).

Cambridge River Festival is on Rain or Shine!
Please make your commitment to be part of the fun regardless of weather conditions.

We strongly encourage you to take public transportation. The Harvard Square bus & subway stations are two blocks from the festival. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide parking to volunteers, and the surrounding area will be congested.

We truly depend on the help of festival volunteers to put on this mammoth event, so we count on you to be there. Please arrive on time. If you must cancel, please call the CAC at 617-349-4380 or email me at crf_volunteers@cambridgema.gov at least 2 days before the event to notify us of your change.

Please check in at the Main Information Booth 15 minutes before your shift starts. There will be a check in station at the Main Info Booth from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.. The Main Info. Booth is located at the corner of Memorial Drive and DeWolfe Street. There will be a volunteer stationed to check in arrivals, supply you with a name badge, meal voucher and supplemental job instructions if needed.

Also, there are no volunteer t-shirts this year. You will be given a badge/ID and we kindly request that you wear a light blue shirt. If you are a returning volunteer and you have a Brother Blue t-shirt from 2010, please wear that.

Questions? Please e-mail crf_volunteers@cambridgema.gov or call 617-349-4380.
