Community Planting Day at Alewife Reservation Constructed Wetland July 14

The City is pleased to announce a Community Planting Day to commemorate the creation of a 3.2-acre stormwater treatment wetland in the Alewife Reservation. Join us as we will be planting native plant plugs into various marsh zones throughout the wetland. We will be planting native plant plugs into various marsh zones throughout the wetland.

Directions: Take MBTA Redline to Alewife Station and follow the signs. Access into the Alewife Reservation for planting is at the end of the Cambridge Park Drive cul-de-sac.
*NOTE: in case of rain, call 617-349-4818 to confirm if planting has been rescheduled.
Rain date: Tuesday, July 17 4-7 p.m.
We will provide:
- Overview of wetland planting strategy
- Plants!
- Water, snacks and coffee
What to Bring:
- Rubber boots (it may get mucky)
- Hat, sunscreen and bug spray
- Gardener’s gloves (preferable, not mandatory)
- Garden dibble (if handy)
