The public is invited to join the Cambridge Public Library (CPL) as it hosts its first Wikipedia Loves Libraries event on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., at the Main Library, 449 Broadway. If you have used Wikipedia on the web, then you know how unique and useful a tool it can be. Here is a chance to learn how to become a Wikipedia contributor.
The event begins with a presentation at 11 a.m. for librarians, archivists and others unfamiliar with Wikipedia, followed by an 11:30 a.m. tutorial for new and beginning users. Attendees can observe and/or work on editing Wikipedia entries from Noon to 5 p.m. Attendees should bring their own laptops and power cords. A computer lab will be available for those who cannot bring them. Light food and drinks will be provided.
