ADVISORY: Shooting on Rindge Ave Believed to be Self-Inflicted
Firearms and ammunition recovered on scene
6/25/2012
At approximately 11:50 p.m. on June 24, Cambridge Police responded to a report of a shooting on Rindge Ave.
Upon arrival, police located a male with a single, non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg who claimed to have been shot in a drive-by.
The male was transported to the hospital and, after an investigation which included interviews with the victim, witnesses, and neighbors who reported not hearing any gunshots, the evidence did not substantiate the man’s claims.
At this time, every indication is that this gunshot wound was self-inflicted and no other parties were involved.
A search of the apartment yielded a spent shell casing and two firearms.
No other injuries reported.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Cambridge Police at 617-349-3300.
