Our largest branch is home to the Cambridge Public Library Literacy Project and the Rotary Technology Learning Center.
The Cambridge Public Library is pleased to announce that the Central Square Branch will reopen Monday, March 10. In celebration of the grand reopening, the Central Square Branch is hosting a week of events to welcome back our patrons!
During the week of March 10 - 14, drop by any morning between 10-11 AM, and join us for coffee.
On an average day at the Central Square Branch, visitors will see parents, children and caregivers streaming in to join in toddler sing or family play time. They will see groups heading to the Literacy Project for conversation practice and classes. The seating area is full of people reading the paper or working on their laptops via the library's wireless network. Other visitors are using computers in the Rotary Technology Learning Center. Parents, caregivers and children are reading together on the story cushions in the Children's Room. You are likely to see a staff person giving a library tour of our services and collections (including the Black Studies Collection and Bengali Collection) to a group from one of the community learning centers, or patrons coming to see one of the movies provided by local organizations. Throw in all the people coming to check out library material or pick up reserves, and it is quite a lively scene at the Central Square Branch, morning, noon and night. Check out the calendar of events for more programming information.
