2012 GoGreen Award Winners Announced

Annually in spring, Cambridge celebrates its community-wide commitment to the environment at a presentation of GoGreen Awards honoring business, nonprofit, and institutional leaders who have taken action in the areas of energy, transportation, waste reduction, stormwater management, and climate protection. 

Congratulations to the following recipients, who were presented awards by Deputy City Manager, Richard C. Rossi at the May 22 ceremony:

Community organization: Mystic River Watershed Association

Waste reduction and recycling, small business:  Karma Yoga Studio

Waste reduction and recycling, large organization: Harvard Law School 

Energy use:  TD Bank, Central Square branch

Transportation, small business:  CRB Consulting Engineers

Transportation, large employer AND energy award:  Amgen

Transportation and overall climate leadership:  Tsoi Kobus and Associates

City Employee Award:  Christina Giacobbe of the Police Commissioner’s Office

The 2012 GoGreen Awards ceremony was generously hosted by the MIT Museum, where attendees were also able to view the exhibition, Rivers of Ice: Vanishing Glaciers of the Greater Himalaya.  The exhibition (ending March 2013) documents the effects of climate change through the photography of mountaineer and filmmaker, David Breashears.
