Huron Avenue Project Begins

Huron Avenue street and sidewalks, from Concord Avenue to Fresh Pond Parkway, will be fully reconstructed beginning in Summer 2013 as part of work planned in conjunction with the Alewife Sewer Separation Project, a major underground infrastructure upgrade to improve water quality and stormwater management in Cambridge. The public process for this project began in May 2012 with staff from the Community Development Department (CDD) and Department of Public Works (DPW) overseeing different components of the effort. The City will work with the community in developing an approach to surface improvements that addresses pedestrian, vehicular, landscaping, and environmental elements. Community-wide meetings and neighborhood walks will be held throughout the design phase to discuss neighborhood concerns and potential design solutions.
