Main building at Volpe Center

14The U. S. General Services Administration (GSA) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking creative ideas from the real estate development community to redevelop the John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (Volpe Center) property, in partnership with the U. S. Department of Transportation (DOT). The GAO will use these ideas to arrange a transaction that will provide DOT with a state-of-the-art transportation research facility in Kendall Square to continue fulfilling the agency’s purpose of advancing transportation innovation for the public good.

The Volpe Center comprises a 14 acre parcel of land located adjacent to Kendall Square with six existing structures totaling 375,000 square feet, over 500 surface parking places, and landscaped areas of open space.

Responses are due by 5:00 P. M. on Friday, October 10, 2014.
