Connect Kendall Square Open Space Competition

Four finalist teams have been selected to advance to the next stage of the Connect Kendall Square Open Space competition. The competition encourages creative thinking and new ideas regarding open space design, as well as opportunities for connections, programming, and place making to create a robust open space network in Eastern Cambridge and Kendall Square.

The finalists are:

  • Framework Cultural Placemaking
  • Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, Inc. Landscape Architects
  • Richard Burck Associates, Inc.
  • SITELAB urban studio

Over the next three months, each multidisciplinary team will develop a planning and design framework for open space in Kendall Square and Eastern Cambridge.

Community members can meet members of the finalist teams and hear about each team’s design approach and understanding of the goals and vision developed by the ECKOS Committee at Meet Your Teams Night, to be held Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 5:30 P. M. to 8:00 P. M. at the Broad Institute Auditorium and Lobby (415 Main Street).
