Connect Kendall Square Open Space Competition

Join us for the Connect Kendall Square Open Space Competition Meet Your Teams Night on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 5:30 P. M. at the Broad Institute Auditorium and Lobby (415 Main Street). This public event will provide an opportunity for community members to learn more about the competition process and hear directly from each of the team leaders about their team composition, philosophy, experience, and initial approach to responding to the open space vision and design goals for the area as set forth by the ECKOS Committee.

Over the next several months, these four finalist teams will each create a framework open space plan for Kendall Square and Eastern Cambridge:

  • Framework Cultural Placemaking
  • Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, Inc. Landscape Architects
  • Richard Burck Associates, Inc.
  • SITELAB urban studio

The competition encourages creative thinking and new ideas regarding open space design, as well as opportunities for connections, programming, and place making to create a robust open space network in Eastern Cambridge and Kendall Square.
