The City of Cambridge’s Economic Development Division is collecting information about the current local retail environment across the city. Cambridge is known for having a strong retail base with a wide mix of restaurants, apparel shops, and the like. However, as entrepreneurs start to look at Cambridge a potential site for their business, we want to better understand neighborhood retail mix, the specific capacity of current commercial buildings, as well as the impact of its employment of Cambridge residents. We hope by gathering this information we will paint a more complete picture of Cambridge’s current retail industry and its potential for growth.
