Cambridge Police to Hold “Drug Take-Back Day” on April 27th

The Cambridge Police Department, in collaboration with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, will be holding a prescription drug take-back day on Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Personnel will be available in the lobby of the Cambridge Police Department, located in the Robert W. Healy Public Safety Facility at 125 Sixth Street in Cambridge, to accept your unused or unwanted prescription drugs.

Drug Take Back Day

Residents should turn in their unused prescription drugs because:

  • Children and animals could be poisoned if they find and swallow drugs.
  • Drugs can be scavenged and illegally sold.
  • Unused pharmaceuticals are environmental toxins; flushing them down the toilet or sink can release them into our drinking water and soil.

For additional information, and a list of accepted prescription drugs, please refer to the information available online at www.CambridgePolice.org/CommunityResources.

Can’t make it on April 27?  Residents can anonymously deposit unused medications at any time in the drop box located in the first floor lobby of the police station’s Records Unit.
