At approximately 12:26 a.m., Cambridge Police responded to the Central Square area on a report of a stabbing on Massachusetts Avenue.

Upon their arrival, officers located a male victim on Bishop Allen Drive suffering from a single stab wound to his chest.  He was transported to the hospital and his injury does not appear to be life threatening.

Police believe that the stabbing was the result of an altercation between the victim and a group of males and was not a random act.
