A Cambridge financial Institution reported that an unknown individual established a new account using the personal identifiers of another individual. Once the account was established, funds were transferred in from a secondary account, which were later deemed fraudulent, causing a loss to the bank.

On September 24, 2013 at 5:45pm police were conducting traffic enforcement at the intersection of Mt. Auburn and Lowell St when an officer observed a MV make a left turn from Mt. Auburn onto Lowell St in violation of the posted no left turn between 4pm and 7pm. The operator of the vehicle was identified, was unable to produce a Massachusetts driver’s license, and was summoned to court for the violations of operating unlicensed and sign violation.

09/24/13-3:40PM THE R/P STATED THAT ON 09/20/13 BETWEEN 5:30PM AND 6:00PM WHILE WORKING THEY GOT INTO A VERBAL CONFRONTATION THAT BECAME PHYSICAL, THE S/P HAULED OFF AND PUNCHED THE R/P ON THE LEFT CHEEK, THE R/P THEN GRABBED THE S/P IN A BEAR HUG TYPE OF A HOLD IN AN ATTEMPT TO CALM THE S/P DOWN AND AS HE DID THE S/P BIT HIS LEFT EAR.

On the above date and time, police arrested Gary Garfield, 29, of 249 Union Street in Springfield, MA for trying to purchase an iPad with a fraudulent credit card. During the investigation, he was in possession of a Class B Narcotic without a prescription and was charged with Improper Use of Credit Card Over $250 and Possession of Class B Drug.

A Cambridge resident reports that she was assaulted just as she approached her residence by an unknown male. Sp demanded she hand over her purse. The Sp grabbed at her bag which was over her shoulder. The Victim turned, kicked the SP, and screamed for help. The Sp fled the area. Nothing was taken from the victim and she wasn't hurt during the assault.
