Police were dispatched to a call for loud noise in the courtyard of Newtowne Court and located a male laying on the sidewalk who had reportedly just been “jumped.”  The victim would not cooperate with police and was transported to the hospital.

HARVARD ST
On October 04, 2013 at approximately 3:30 A.M. Yue Hu, 23, of 375 Harvard Street was arrested for Assault and Battery on a Police Officer and Disturbing the Peace. Cambridge Police Officers were initially dispatched to Harvard Street for a Fare Evasion, and when Officers tapped Yue Hu on his shoulder to wake him up from a drunken sleep, he punched and attempted to kick them. After being placed under arrest for Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, Yue Hu continuously yelled and screamed on the top of his lungs causing residents of the apartment building to be annoyed and investigate the disturbance.

During the phone conversation the rental agent recognized the caller as that of a disgruntled female customer from a previous encounter. Prior to caller hanging up the phone the caller warned agent that she was going to harm her when she left work today.

On October 5, 2013 at approximately 12:48pm Joel Sylvia, 54, of 17 Holiday Street in Dorchester was placed under arrest after he was observed concealing products from a business in his pockets then passing all points of sale. Sylvia then fled the store where staff and mall security followed him to the intersection of Cambridge and First Street where he was stopped by Cambridge Police and taken into custody.

The vehicle was unlocked in the side driveway, and nothing else appeared to be missing. The resident later found his straps on the street, two houses down.
